Abstracts

Abstract submissions should be sent to the symposium secretariat, either in French or in English, before 15 mai 2009.

The submissions (in .doc or .rtf format) should include :

  • the title of the paper
  • the name of the author
  • the author'stitle, function and institution
  • the author's email address
  • an abstract of 2000 characters and signs, including spaces
  • 5 key words

Abstract review
All abstract proposals will be carefully read by the review committee and authors will be notified of the status of their proposal for presentation by the end of June 2009.

Papers
Papers (in Word.doc or .rtf format) should be sent to the symposium secretariat by email (or, alternatively, on CD-R, together with a paper version) by 30 September 2009.
Please include the following :

  • a 30,000-character article, including spaces and footnotes name of file: nameofauthor.rtf i.e.: johnsmith.rtf
  • a 400- character presentation of the author name of file: nameofauthorbio.rtf i.e.: johnsmithbio.rtf
  • a 1000- character abstract in English and, if possible, in French name of file: nameofauthorabstract.rtf i.e.: johnsmithabstract.rtf

Illustrations

  • 5 illustrations maximum (300 dpi in TIF format) name of file: nameofauthorfig1; nameofauthorfig2 etc.
  • All illustrations should be royalty free and the authors of the photographs must be indicated (© name of photographer). If these illustrations come from magazines, books or from public or private archive sources, authors must include written authorisations from the copyright holder (photographs, editors, archive centre …)
  • Captions should be carefully numbered and submitted in a single file.
    Name of file: nameofauthorcaptions.rtf
  • In the main body of the article, reference to illustrations should be noted as follows: (fig. 1).
  • In the main body of the article, reference to footnotes should be noted as follows: (footnote. 1).

NB: names of the files should not include spaces, punctuation signs or letters with accents. In the first submission, please specify the exact number of files submitted (rtf and tif files).

Technical requirements

Please use minimum formatting and simple attributes with automatic formatting functions. Do not insert page or section breaks within the text.

  • Title
    Times New Roman 14, in lower case letters, typed flush left on the page, followed by one line break
  • Body of article
    Times New Roman 11 justified
  • Subtitles: just one intermediary form
    Times New Roman 12 preceded by 2 line breaks / followed by one line break
  • Line breaks
    Each end of paragraph is marked by a line break. Please avoid introducing too many line breaks.
  • Footnotes
    Times New Roman 9
    Footnotes will be placed at the end of the text and will be typed consecutively with the reference footnote number at the beginning of the line.
  • References
    For a book:
